Good morning! I'm not going to lie-I like how pretty the snow looks this morning!
I have to tell you all what a GREAT job the children (both classes!) did with the evacuation drill on Thursday. We talked about a fire drill and what would happen if we got locked out and had to go somewhere warm until the police officers could get us back in our school. All the children were great listeners and followed the rules.
We have such a great week planned for preschool this week. Tomorrow is "Z" Day for the afternoon class and we'll also be learning about number 7, as they're made so similarly. We're really getting excited for Christmas and love having a tree in our room. Our elf Jingle has been quite silly (please remember he only comes out for the afternoon class-shhhh!).
The morning class has also been having a lot of Christmasy fun. Tomorrow we'll make some silly "star Santa's" for the bulletin board and we'll be painting trees at the easel this week as well. We have lots and lots of holiday manipulatives to count, sort and discuss.
On Thursday, the morning class will watch the 3rd grade performance -that should be fun.
Ok-listen carefully! Now that we'll be wearing boots (joy of joys!) , please please have your chld change out of boots, and into shoes IN THE HALLWAY! The boots can remain under the bench until dismissal. I'll get out more of the "boots" pictures for the sign in board and we'll assist the children in putting them on.
Tuesday is OUTSIDE day for the afternoon class--looks like that now includes snow gear.
Thursday is OUTSIDE day for the morning class-yup, snow gear!
I use my discretion, especially with the morning class as to whether we'll go out or not-some times it's just not worth it. But please be prepared!
Enjoy the snowy day and let's have a great week!
