Good morning! It just started snowing here, but I guess that's better than the negative temperatures yesterday morning! Happy birthday Miss Katie! So, it's very hard to believe we're 3 weeks away from another vacation-time is flying now. Everyone should have received progress reports and graded IEP's (if applicable). PLEASE reach out if you have questions or concerns. I'll be contacting IEP parents in the next couple of weeks to talk about ESY (summer school). Valentine party sign-up sheets are on the door-please read them carefully!!!!! The morning class WILL NOT exchange valentines but the AFTERNOON CLASS WILL!!! We have too many dietary restrictions in the morning ,so we'll skip it this year. The party will happen though and we're trying to be VERY careful about treats--we're looking for GLUTEN and NUT free treats in the morning. WE're having a make your own ice cream sundae party in the afternoon-that should be so YUMMYYYYY! Tomorrow will be "M Day" in the afternoon. Ask you child to show you how "M" is a nose sound-pretty funny! We will also begin to practice all things "9"! We've been working hard on fine motor skills and isolating our fingers for coloring, pinching, etc. Any activities utilizing tweezers, tongs, clothespins, etc. are super practice for at home! Morning children too! We're doing our best to stay healthy in preschool. Thanks for the clorox wipes and for reminding your children to wash hands at arrival. Have a great day and lets hope for a great week! Robin |
Good morning! Thank goodness this warmth is melting the skating rink in my driveway! Hopefully it will be warm enough for us to play outside this week as well.
We will be continuing our winter/snow/mitten activities this week both in the morning and afternoon classes. IN the morning, we will be working a lot on matching colors, shapes and patterns on mittens. We'll practice clipping them together with clothespins too! Clothespins are a super fun way to practice fine motor skills, both at school and at home!
The afternoon class will begin talking a bit about measurement with mittens. We'll be taking a loot at how long our mittens are with different items such as unifix cubes, crayons, etc. We'll also be practicing numeral sequencing and identification with mittens as well.
We will begin exploring letters with diagonal lines in the afternoon class. Tomorrow will be "N Day"--N is for Ninja Turtles! We've been working in our "8" book and will be beginning "9" by the end of the week (hopefully!).
I'm hoping to have progress reports and graded IEP's out by the end of the week, and feel free to reach out if you'd like to schedule a parent/teacher conference.
Have all afternoon parents registered their child for Kindergarten?
Are all morning parents planning to have their child return to the afternoon session next year?
Does anyone know people with children who would like to be screened to be a role model for next year's classes? Let me know asap!
I realize Valentine's Day is a couple of weeks out, but I wanted to put it out there now. ONLY THE 4YEAR OLD CLASS WILL BE EXCHANGING VALENTINES THIS YEAR. So many of the valentines contain candy, and we have NUT and GLUTEN restrictions in the MORNING class so we'll just skip that part. We will still have our party and more information will go out about that next week.
Thanks for understanding-enjoy your Sunday and have a great week!
Robin
