Good morning-happy last day of September-what a blur! I feel like we're starting to
develop our "rhythm" in the classroom and are really settling in nicely. I wish you could all see the independence developing during familiar routines-it's awesome to watch!
At circle time in the morning class, we're working very hard on sounds with Mrs. Dana on Monday and Thursday,, whether it's through music or with visual sound cards. We're also enjoying exploring movement with Miss Jeannie on Wednesdays, either with yoga or obstacle courses (we alternate weeks). Circle time on Tuesday is all about movement, and body part awareness. This week we explored the parachute all together-it was really fun.
The afternoon class will be taking a field trip to Brookdale Fruit Farm on Thursday and we are sooooo excited! Both classes are going to be having so many fun "apple" activities to explore during the next week or 2. We'll be painting, counting, sorting, patterning, and cutting with apples-oh, and maybe we'll be tasting them as well!
The afternoon class is going to start talking about "L" this week-our first letter. We will begin with letters that are made with "big lines" that start in the corner: L, F, E, H, and then we'll move to the letters that have "big lines" that start in the middle: T and I.
When you see your child practicing printing his/her name at home, please try to remind him/her to "start at the top!" thanks
That's about it for now-enjoy the beautiful fall day and have a great week!
